Patch 7.3 Hotfixes: Sep 5 – News

WoW Secrets community on Discord discovered the secret Lucid Nightmare mount.

Lucid Nightmare is a new secret mount added in Patch 7.3 that drops from Puzzler’s Desire. It’s very similar to the Riddler’s Mind-Worm riddle of Patch 7.2, discovered by the WoW Secrets community on Discord. Past discoveries of the community include Sun Darter Hatchling pet and recently they discovered, how Hunters can tame Panthara pets.

Lucid Nightmare Mount Preview

Lucid Nightmare is a ground mount that can be unlocked, once the riddle is complete. Yesterday, the community found the final clue and players were able to get their mount.

How to Get The Mount (Updated)

Clue 1

Go to Dalaran (50.73, 54.07) and click the Inconspicuous Note on the table (upstairs). It reads:

“It begins in the 2104059.

With a most pleasing sign.

(These letters will not always rhyme.)”

2104059 is the anagram for Ulduar’s release date.

Clue 2

Take the Dalaran portal to Shrine in Pandaria and from there to old Dalaran. Enter Ulduar and defeat the first two bosses – Flame Leviathan and XT-002 Deconstructor. After dealing with the annoying trash, go to 45, 12 and pull the Rusty Lever on the robot’s head.

This will spawn a 20×20 maze that needs to be solved. Players can interact with the lights and turn them green. You need to create the “Pleasing Sign” mentioned in the first clue.

Start by creating a cross and then adjust the lights according to the following the screenshot posted by WoW Secrets member Pudschu#2779.

Once completed, the maze will disappear and a new Inconspicuous Note will spawn in the center of the room.

It reads:

“1000 years imprisoned.

Surely it wears on the mind.”

Clue 3

The next clue is located in Temple of Ahn’Qiraj in the final room after C’thun (43, 64). Viscidus can be a nightmare, but as an Elemental Shaman, it is enough to spam Frost Shock until Viscidus gets frozen (pay attention to the chat), then, summon your Earth Elemental, lust and melee with The Fist of Ra-den until the boss dies. Clear the whole Temple and go to (43, 64). You will find a Mind Larva on the table. Clicking it will begin a “Bejeweled game”. When completed, a new Inconspicuous Note will spawn near the Mind Larva.

It reads:

“Deeper than deep.

Awaits your seat.”

Clue 4

Take the Dalaran portal to Orgrimmar / Stormwind and go to Cataclysm portals and port to Deepholm. Go to the cave at 57, 24.

Enter it, go past the worm. You will get dismounted first, but note that you are able to mount again in the worm room, so there’s no need to hide.

Turn right and go to 63.83, 22.44, where you come across a Dark Fissure.

Selecting the dialog option will display the following warning:

“You are about to fall into a dark fissure. You may not be able to climb back out again. Are you very sure you want to do this?”

You will now enter a cave with a chair and a skull that cannot be interacted with.

A Dingy Plaque is attached to the chair with a hint:

“<The plaque is old and barely legible.

You can only make out fragments of each line of text.>

Supremacy?

Get…

Shirk…

…eke…”

It took a while to solve the anagram, but it’s absolutely necessary to mention an epic meme from WoW Secrets Discord:

A really cool reference is that the clue: “get, shirk, eke” from the plaque is an anagram for “irk the geeks” and there are different variations of the text for every localization. At first, the community tried to add letters to the clue to interact with the strange skull, but to no avail.

The solution was “Racksum Greep is the key”. Racksum Greep can be found in Ratchet at around 70, 70. Blizzard went extremely sneaky here, because instead of adding a new NPC, they replaced the skin of an existing one (note the id = 13602 and wowdb not listing the mob under “added in 7.3” filters).

Racksum Greep wears a Shadoweave Mask and you will need one in order to interact with the Strange Skull in the Deepholm cave. Muffinus confirmed on Twitter that Pattern: Shadoweave Mask is obtainable and you can make a lot of gold by selling Shadoweave Masks in the coming days.
