Assassin’s Creed creator releases teaser trailer for new game

Patrice Desilets, creator of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, has revealed some information on his upcoming game Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

At the Reboot Develop conference in Croatia, Desilets outlined some of the previously unannounced changes to the project (via VG247).

Ancestors is a third-person action adventure set millions of years ago, containing survival elements, as well as tasking the player with managing their resources. Initially planned to be released episodically, Desilets said the 32-person staff at Panache is creating something where the episodic format doesn’t work anymore.

Desilets had been relatively quiet on his future projects, Ancestors and 1666: Amsterdam, following a public spat with former employer Ubisoft, and Desilets wanting to retain the rights to his creations. Work on 1666: Amsterdam has stalled for the time being while Panache work on Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.

Not on a Monday, though. During his talk, Desilets stated that no one at Panache works on Mondays. Here’s hoping this becomes a mandated thing in the games industry, eh?
